CACI - Center for Contemporary Art

The CACI Institute is home to one of the most important collections of contemporary art in Brazil, the largest center of outdoor art in Latin America. More than 500 works by artists of national and international reputation, exposed in the open or in temporary and permanent galleries, situated in a botanical garden of rare beauty. The landscaping was the initial influence of Roberto Burle Marx (1909-1994) and in the whole area rare plant species are found arranged in an aesthetic way, on land which has five lakes and preserved forest reserve. The CACI Institute besides these spaces of aesthetic enjoyment and entertainment - afforded him a unique place among other institutions of its kind - also conducts research in environmental, educational activities and a significant program of inclusion and citizenship for the people of your surroundings.
